W. RIchard carnahan, m.d.
Dr. Carnahan received his Medical Degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1977 and moved to Tucson where he completed a General Surgical Residency at the University of Arizona in 1982. He served four years as a General Surgeon in the United States Air Force and then returned to Tucson in 1986. Dr. Carnahan is Board Certified in General Surgery and has practiced for over 25 years. He has been with Presidio Surgical Group since its inception in 1998. He has stayed abreast of recent advances in General Surgery and has particular interest in Minimally Invasive Laparoscopic Procedures of the gallbladder, colon and spleen. Dr. Carnahan offers his patients considerable experience and expertise in the performance of both standard open operations and Laparoscopic Procedures.

Jenelle L. Olson, m.d.
Dr. Olson grew up in northern Montana and moved to Arizona for undergraduate study. She gained admission to the University of Arizona School of Medicine earning her Medical Degree in 1996. She completed her Surgical Residency at the University of Arizona in 2001 and immediately joined Presidio Surgical Group. She is married and is raising two young sons. She has established a busy surgical practice becoming an active and valuable member of the Tucson Medical Community. She is Board certified in General Surgery and is currently serving as the Chairman of the General Surgery Department at Oro Valley Hospital. She is active as a hospital liaison at Northwest Hospital and is currently a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the Arizona Medical Association, the Pima County Medical Society and the Society of Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeons. Dr. Olson's specific interests and areas of expertise include Advanced Minimally Invasive Laparoscopic Surgery of the gastrointestinal tract and Breast Cancer Surgery specializing in breast conserving procedures, skin sparing mastectomies with immediate reconstruction and sentinel lymph node sampling. She joined Presidio Surgical Group because of their long and respected history of dedication to their patients. Dr. Olson provides up to date quality care while treating her patients with respect and kindness.

Stuart I. Melcer, m.d. f.a.c.s.
Dr. Melcer is one of the founding surgeons of Presidio Surgical Group. In addition to his private practice, he has served as an associate clinical professor for the general surgery residency program at the University of Arizona and recently completed a tenure as chairman of the department of surgery at Northwest Medical Center. Dr. Melcer's surgical interest is in laparoscopic, or minimally invasive operations that allow patients to benefit from quicker recovery time and less post-operative pain.
